Recently the North Park FFA Chapter has strived in making many accomplishments.
On May 3rd & 4th the Chapter took six teams to Fort Collins to compete in the Career Development Event (CDE’S). Throughout the two days of competing we came home with many achievements. The bronze teams were: Meat Judging and Floriculture. In the bronze category of individuals we had: Cali Harper with Vet Science and Jake Wintermote with Meat Judging. In silver we had: Cheyanne Harper and Kyan Jenkins in Vet Science, Blake Russell and Bryce Russell with Meat Judging, and Makayla Douthit and Sayla Clark with Floriculture. Our one and only gold individual winner was Marti Elze with Vet Science. Other Students that competed where Shelby Fliniau and Yadira Anaya-Reyes in Floriculture, Colton Shoemaker in Meat Judging, Kaine and Kason Brown in Ag Mechanics and Kacie Babcock in Horse Evaluation.
Following a great weekend at State CDE’s, on May 8th we hosted our 2015 Fall Banquet. There were many great achievements, and I’m proud to announce each. We had 6 students apply for a State Proficiency Award. Students have to write an essay and do reviews of their Supervised Agricultural Experience. In the bronze category we had, Shelby Fliniau with Outdoor Recreation and Bryce Russell with Diversified Agricultural Production/Placement. In the silver category we had, Blake Russell with Beef Production. And in the gold category we had Kyan Jenkins with Sheep Production, Makayla Douthit with Wildlife Management, and Kaine Brown with Ag Sales. We are excited to announce two state winners: Makayla Douthit & Kaine Brown. They will send their applications on to National FFA this summer and if they are selected as one of the top four in the Nation. They will have an interview and receive recognition at National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.
This year we had 4 State Degree Applicants: T.J. Richard, Adrian Cereceres, Steven Escobedo, and Kaine Brown. Kaine Brown has been selected as a Star finalist for State Star in Agribusiness. He has an interview at State Convention, and will be announced at the third general session.
Other awards I’m proud to announce are : Hannah Dillley with AG I Notebook & Star Greenhand Award, Cheyanne Harper with AG II Notebook & AG II Record Book Award, Marti Elze with AG I Notebook Award, Jake Wintermote with AG II Notebook Award, Tiffany Selcer with Advanced AG Notebook Award, Blake Russell with Star Chapter Agribusiness Award, Kyan Jenkins with Star Chapter Farmer Award, Kaine Brown with Advanced AG Record Book, and Steven Escobedo with Star Chapter Placement Award.
